Freek De Craecker (1991) is a theatre actor, creator, and drag performer known as Kelly Verpepsi.

He graduated with a Master’s degree in Drama from KASK in 2019. As a theatre maker, Freek has worked with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (*The Wizard of Oz*, *The Four Seasons*, and *The Space Travelers*) and co-founded *psst psst*—a family theatre collective—with Femke Platteau. Together, they created *Bla Bla Blues*, *Kladderadatsch*, and *PAPERAS*. In 2026, Freek will create *Ander Strand*, a performance about the history of Pride in Belgium (produced by CAMPO and Viernulvier). Freek is also a member of the collective of young creators and actors known as Camping Sunset (*Happiness*, *Ten Oorlog II*, *Ten Oorlog III*, *Tillsammans*, and *Queen of the Flies*).

As a performer, he has appeared in productions by Miet Warlop, 4Hoog, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Lieselot Siddiki & Jarne Van Loon, Simon D’Huyvetter (KOPERGIETERY), Kris Verdonck/A Two Dogs Company, TAAT, Jan Martens/Lukas Dhont, Louis Verlinde/Gina Beuk, and Ruben Mardulier/Micha Goldberg, among others.

Freek is a physical performer who creates theatre from an absurd and childlike, honest perspective. His work explores themes such as finding one's place in a world that exerts pressure—whether through social media, the drive to perform, ecological catastrophes, or expectations regarding masculinity and gender norms. He seeks to translate these seemingly heavy themes into playful, open forms, utilizing media that are also part of our daily lives. Since he began performing in drag, his exploration of gender norms—and the playfulness associated with them—has become a formal element of his work, while his creative process focuses on community building.
